Hi! I’m Toby John’s foster mom. He came to me mid October and hasn’t missed a beat joining my pack of dogs. I have a small sized pit bull, a mini Aussie shepherd, a Jack Russell Terrier, and a corgi. Toby came with the name of John- but he didn’t answer to it, and let’s be honest. John isn’t a great name for a young dog! So we added on. He is now responding to Toby John! Toby is a people pleaser. He is energetic yet calm. He loves other dogs and is curious about cows and chickens but listens very well when told NO to chasing them. Toby has started to use a sound collar to reinforce NO and he responds well to the beep when needing redirection. Toby is an escape artist. He has successfully broken out of some kennels so we will be starting to use an indestructible kennel when we need to leave him home. He stays put in the yard with the other dogs and loves to hang out with his people. Because Toby is a big boy, ALL things of interest should be put way out of his reach, he's still a puppy and like to explore with his mouth. At night, Toby is a huge snuggle bug. He’s content to lay on the couch, dog bed, or on you- depending on how much he can get away with. Toby is so soft and has the kindest eyes. He really is full of love and would love a family of his own. He would do best in a home with a large yard or acreage and at least one other doggie sibling and he knows how to use a doggie door. I’ll be sad to see this big lug go, but am eager to rescue more dogs in need!
