Tilly, or as her foster calls her, Silly Tilly is a complete joy to be around! Tilly came to us timid and unsure of the shelter environment but showed us her true self once she warmed up to us, soliciting belly rubs and giving small kisses. In the shelter, Tilly did well in small dog playgroup. Tilly has been in her foster home for about 2 weeks and is doing great! She likes to go for hikes, do zoomies in the yard, snuggle under the blankets, take naps in the sun, and squeeze every ounce of love out of everyone she meets. As Tilly is still a puppy, she is still perfecting house training and teething. Tillyâs adoptive family should be ready to get active, because although she is small, she is mighty, and will need an outlet for her energy, with lots of positive encouragement. Tilly has done well in her foster home with the resident labrador and two dog-savvy cats. She is very playful with all the animals in her foster home and is looking for other playful dogs and confident cats in her forever home. Adopters should be extra mindful in the transition to bringing Tilly home as she can be a bit of a wiggle worm and known for a mad dash here and there. Management through baby gates, leashes, and securely fitted harnesses while Tilly is acclimating to her adoptive home will set the whole family up for success as she settles in and bonds with her new family. This dogâs adoption fee is reduced to $70 from May 1st to May 15th as part of âEmpty the Sheltersâ, an adoption event hosted by the Bissell Pet Foundation to help pets across the nation find the loving adoptive homes they deserve. Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
