Tess is 3yo, weighs 62lbs, is spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, is microchipped, and is house-and-crated trained. Tess does not like taking pills; therefore, her guardian recommends a topical flea/tick treatment. Tess can sit, but doesn't stay and she responds to her name.
Scratch Incidents: Tess inadvertently and without malice stepped on her guardian's toe, resulting in a scratch and on another occasion scratched her leg to garner attention. Guardian states she should've adequately clipped her nails. The scratches didn't break the skin, animal control was not involved, and medical treatment was unwarranted.
Tess's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her: Tess's guardian is moving out of state and cannot take her.
Tess's guardian offers a brief medical history: "She hurt her leg once about a year ago, she was running and stepped wrong. The vet said it was a bruised ligament and she healed with just rest."
Tess's guardian states the following regarding children: Although Tess lives with children, ages 11 and 15, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with children, stating "She does not recognize her size and will run up to anyone to say hello".
Tess's guardian states the following regarding dogs: Tess hasn't lived with other dogs, so her guardian doesn't recommend her living with dogs, stating "She barks but does not approach, but has only ever been in the house or in a fenced yard with no other animals".
Tess's guardian states the following regarding cats: Tess lives with a cat, but her guardian doesn't recommend her living with cats, stating "I have a cat and the cat avoids the dog. The dog does not seek out the cat".
Tess's guardian describes her as:
Couch potato
Barks alot
Playful
Likes to be touched
Affectionate
Always at your side
Indoor dog
House-Trained
Crate-Trained
Separation anxiety
"A home where she can be with her person as much as possible. She has eaten every bed, blanket, crate pad that she's ever had. And yes I mean EATEN, not chewed! The dog has a stomach of steel. She would prob love a fenced yard, we dont have one so we use our neighbor's yard occasionally. She is definitely an indoor dog. She does not like the rain, at all!"
