Meet Tato Skins – A Perfectly Baked Blend of Playful and Sweet
Tato Skins is a 4 month old Labrador Retriever mix with a heart as golden as her name suggests. Rescued from a field as a tiny stray, Tater is now thriving in her foster home, where she’s blossomed into a confident, affectionate, and hilarious young pup. With her shiny black coat, soulful eyes, and signature wiggle-butt greeting, she’s the kind of dog who turns ordinary moments into joyful ones.
Like any good Lab, Tater is a people-pleaser through and through. She greets everyone—human or canine—with an enthusiastic tail wag and a flurry of kisses. Labs are known for their friendliness, loyalty, and intelligence, and Tater is already showing all the hallmarks of the breed. She’s social, eager to engage, and full of curiosity about the world. Whether she’s cuddled up in your lap like a baby (yes, she really loves that) or romping around the backyard in a fit of zoomies, she radiates charm.
Tater starts her day around 6:30 AM and winds down around 10 PM. She enjoys breakfast mid-morning and dinner in the early evening. During the day, she alternates between lounging inside and playing outside—often engaging in gentle play with the resident big dog or being remarkably respectful of the family’s older, blind and deaf pup. At night, she snuggles into bed beside her doggy companion, happy to be close to her pack.
When it comes to training, Tater is a smart cookie with lots of potential. Like most Labrador mixes, she’s treat-motivated, which makes her a great candidate for learning commands and building good habits. She’s doing well with house training and uses pee pads when needed, but she mostly prefers to go outside. She's also getting the hang of leash walking—she doesn’t pull and is slowly learning the ropes. She does enjoy a little digging in the yard now and then (hey, she's a pup!), but with supervision and toys for redirection, it’s nothing she can’t grow out of.
Tater is the best of both worlds: she’s playful and lively when it’s time to romp, but she’s also a world-class couch potato who just wants to cuddle and be loved. She’s not much of a barker—quietly taking in the world around her—and she doesn’t mind being held like a baby for as long as your arms can stand it. She hasn’t had much exposure to cats or kids yet, but with her gentle nature and Labrador sweetness, she’s likely to do well in a variety of homes.
This pup would thrive with a family that can match her playful energy and snuggly side. Another friendly dog in the home would be a big plus—she clearly enjoys canine companionship—but she’d also do just fine soaking up the attention as a solo dog. If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion with a little sass, a lot of sweetness, and a heart full of gold, Tater Skins is ready to be your forever friend.
