Sully is a 7 lb, 10 year old NEUTERED male Chihuahua Mix. He’s been fully vaccinated, microchipped and parasite free. He came to us literally off of the euthanasia table. The story we are told is his owner passed way and a “friend” was rehoming him. He came back more than once with the excuse he’s not getting along with their dogs. The “friend” then took him to the vet to be euthanized. Thankfully the vet messaged us to see if we could help him and we said yes. A volunteer drove TWO HOURS to meet up with the transport. That volunteer is currently fostering him and this is what she said about him.
If you’re looking for a dog that will smother you with love then Sullivan Astronaut is your guy. “Sully” as his foster family has been calling him, is the sweetest little man on this side of the planet. Although he's never been to Mars or the moon, he will love you to the moon and back. He does prefer to be with his foster mom over the other men in the home.
Sully is not a fan of the crate or car rides. He sleeps through the night with other dogs in his foster parents bed. And to our surprise (not really) he LOVES other dogs. If they need space he happily gives it to them. Sully is potty trained and will try to go out the dog door. We ask adopters to expect a learning curve in a new environment.
Sully is not a picky eater and he loves extra treats. He will bark with excitement when you come home or if the other dogs start barking. But typically he’s very quiet. He does have some anxiety if left alone but who can blame him. He gets so excited for daily walks and he’s ok on the leash. He does bark at the outside cats but he doesn’t try to harm them.
If you’re willing to give Sully the life and love he deserves please fill out the application at www.beourpet.org/adoptions.php.
