Meet Shadow, a big, beautiful black Lab mix who tips the scales at a solid 90 lbs. This 9 year-old gentleman is not just strong in stature but also strong in heart, winning over many of our volunteers and staff members with his personality. Shadow previously shared his home with a beloved senior dog and two cats, thriving in their company until sadly, the loss of his canine friend left him feeling a bit lost. He began acting out and his family returned him to our care. 

Shadow has a protective nature, making him an excellent watchdog who forms strong bonds with his people. However, due to his strength and size, he would thrive best in an adults-only home where he can be the big, lovable guardian.

A true water enthusiast, Shadow adores any form of water play. Whether he's diving into ponds at the park like a youthful pup or chilling in a kiddie pool during the warm months, he's happiest when he can splash around. Not to mention, Shadow is an avid fan of fetch—he'll keep the game going all day if you’re up for the challenge!

Shadow loves his car rides and park visits with volunteer friends, making the most of every outing away from the kennel. He has been with us for quite some time now and truly misses the comforts of a home environment.
