Remy's story is heartbreaking. She was rescued from a shelter in NJ after her owner surrendered her while she was pregnant with 8 puppies. This beautiful gray and white American Staffordshire Terrier mix believed to be approximately 2 years old, was petrified and confused and did not know what was going to happen next. Luckily we saw a post about her and knew by the desperate look in her eyes, that we had to help her.
Shortly after arriving at the Castle, Remy gave birth to 8 beautiful babies. She was doing such a good job caring for her offspring and then the unimaginable happened, five of her babies developed canine herpes virus which is believed to have been contracted in utero and passed away. It was heartbreaking to watch this new mom experience such a tremendous loss.
Three of her babies survived and are loved unconditionally by this beautiful mom who is very protective of her little munchkins. She may seem a bit of a mean mom at first, however she is a big mush. She will make a wonderful companion as she is so affectionate and a loyal companion who prefers to be a "lap" dog or by your side when she is not playing with her ball or toys. She loves to play fetch and is housebroken and knows her basic commands. Remy is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.
