Neo is a Border Collie Mix who was rescued from O’Neill, NE in July of 2024. Neo and two of his littermates were rescued from a farm where they had all been on 10ft chains on separate corners of the property where they remained for the first 6 years of their lives until they were rescued this past summer. Since being rescued, he has shown nothing but love and affection towards anyone that will offer it. He currently lives with a resident 2 year old lab who can be too high energy or plays too rough for Neo’s taste, sometimes, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t try to play with other dogs! He enjoys playing with low-medium energy dogs who are more mature and not very puppy-like. Neo has been around kids and has done very well in supervised settings. He can be skittish if approached quickly, most likely due to previous abuse that he endured, but does well if greetings and introductions are taken slowly. He lives and breathes for the ball and frisbee, but is also the biggest cuddle bug that his foster has ever met. He is always ready to go work or on an adventure, but also loves curling up under your arm and sleeping on the couch just as much- as long as he is with his person! He knows basic commands, but loves to learn new things. He is fully house broken and crate trained. He lacks some confidence, so he can be apprehensive about new things and doesn’t like being alone, but this has been improving with work.
To help pay for vet bills and care (transportation, food, toys, etc..) a $100 donation is requested at the time of adoption. All of our adoptions are contingent upon an approved application, home visit, reference check, obedience training agreement, and signing of adoption contract. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption. Our dogs are companion animals that live indoors as part of your family. Please do not apply if your plan is to have them as outside dogs, garage dogs, porch dogs or outside kennel dogs. We do not ship dogs.
