Meet Murphy, a 2-year-old male Spaniel mix weighing in at a solid 25 lbs of love and energy! Murphy will be the perfect adventure buddy, ready to explore the world with you. He has a moderate-to-high energy level. Murphy gets along great with people and other dogs, though he might be a bit too rough for small dogs or toddlers, so a home with older kids or dogs his size or larger would be ideal. Murphy would love to have a playful dog buddy in his new home. Having a friend to chase and wrestle with keeps his overall energy levels moderate. Murphy is house trained and quickly learning how to use the doggy door, making him a smart and adaptable companion. He's learning to like his crate and making good progress. He's also working on his leash manners, so with a little more practice, he'll be ready for all your walks and hikes. Murphy is still learning manners and does not agree with the term "personal space." He has some puppy-like tendencies, so he may find ways to entertain himself by chewing on your socks if he is bored. Though Murphy loves his people, he does have some slight resource guarding tendencies with other dogs when it comes to his favorite treats and humans. He is easily corrected so we don't expect this to be an ongoing issue once he gains confidence in his new home. If you're looking for a fun, active dog to join you on all your adventures, Murphy would be a fantastic addition to your family!
