‼️MJ needs an adopter‼️
I have a video of her to post as soon as technology cooperates
✅The facts-
‍‍KIDS- She currently lives w/ a 4 yo child. This child has grown up around dogs and knows how to act appropriately and interact with dogs respectfully. That said, when he is playing, is loud, just being a typical 4 year old kid, it makes MJ nervous. She tends to shy away from him during these times. She is not aggressive in any way with kids. Given the rambunctiousness of young kids makes her anxious/nervous, for that reason we think a home with older children would be fine, but not so much younger kids.
DOGS-There are 2 other dogs in her current home, 1 male, 1 female. She and the other female dog no longer get along. They used to; a trainer was brought in, things got better, but then another fight broke out (MJ was not the aggressor or instigator) and since then, they do not get along. MJ is fine w/ the male dog in the home. We believe MJ would do best with calm/low key, male dogs.
CATS-She was recently cat tested and did great! We have a video of her meeting a cat that we can share w/ anyone who is interested!
Currently, MJ's owners crate and rotate the dogs so that there are no more fights. There is tension in the home because of the girls not getting along and having to be crated/rotated. It's not fair to either of them and we think that in a different home, w/ less tension, MJ will be much more comfortable and relaxed.
MJ has had a few people interested and unfortunately a couple of those adoptions fell through in part to her being a Pit (mix). If she were a Lab, a Poodle, a Golden Retriever with the very same personality...there would be no questions asked. We aren't trying to guilt people but it saddens us that she's judged for being a Pit mix.
MJ is a 1.5 year old spayed female. She is 50 lbs, and a BIG snuggler. She loves her people. She can be timid in new situations, but warms up. She has never shown human aggression. She would love nothing more than a game of fetch and a pile of blankets to burrow in. She is on Fluoxetine to help with her nervousness, and apoquel for some very minor skin allergies.
She is fully house trained, knows basic commands, LOVES her crate (“house”), and does not chew. She’s a bit nervous in the car but settles in. Her leash manners could be improved as she has always had a fenced yard and is accustomed to a lot of space.
She has a lifetime training contract with Bark Busters.
MJ is in New England.
