Meet Mila - Our Resilient Beauty Mila is a stunning 4-year-old blue merle American Bully with a heart as soft as her velvety coat. Once used for breeding, her life took a heartbreaking turn when her owners’ new landlord refused to allow her breed—leaving her at risk of euthanasia. Thankfully, she was surrendered to a rescue in Georgia, but when that facility closed, Mila’s story took an extraordinary twist. This special girl became a bit of a celebrity when she was flown by private plane to PIPs Rescue, where she could finally begin her journey to a better life. Shortly before arriving in NC, Mila faced another hurdle: complications from surgery left her partially paralyzed. But in true Mila fashion, she’s fighting with everything she has—making an incredible recovery in just a month. With continued care and support, we’re hopeful she’ll regain full mobility. Currently 80% independent. Mila is also heartworm positive, but she’s currently undergoing treatment and responding well. Her gentle, affectionate spirit shines through it all—she just wants to be with her people and soak up every ounce of love she can get. She’s the sweetest soul, endlessly loving and full of gratitude. She’s wonderful with other dogs, gentle with children, and even gets along beautifully with cats and chickens—making her an amazing companion for a variety of homes. House and crate trained. She needs occasional assistance getting around, but can do her business independently. Slick surfaces are difficult. Does best with carpet and grass. Mila is looking for a forever family filled with compassion, patience, and warmth—a place where she can continue healing and finally live the joyful life she’s always deserved.
