This dainty lady came to us as part of an operation in which over 130 pets were rescued from a house in Florida. They were living in terrible conditions. This resilient pup is eager to live a full life with someone who is willing to give her a chance. Melly needs to learn to trust humans and love them. With time and patience, she will blossom into the best companion!
Update: Millie(Melly) has made a lot of progress since I became her foster mom in October. She is crate trained and house broken. She doesn’t stay in her crate now. She moves around the house independently. She was skittish toward other dogs but now is fine around them. Even plays some with my son’s dog. Took her a while but finely plays with and chews on her toys. She has a sweet personality and quickly becoming the little princess of the house.
Update: Melly joined our household in February. She is shy, but warming up! Loves to share the couch with humans, cats, and a dog of her size. She goes to an off leash dog park where she is quite timid, especially around larger dogs. Melly is basically house broken, but seldom cues that she needs to go out. My deer head chihuahua is her personal trainer! She will do well in a home with another small dog that knows the routine.
