Meela is a sweet and sensitive pup who's still getting her bearings, but she's already showing her affectionate side. While she may start off a bit nervous, it doesn’t take long before she’s asking for pets and soaking up gentle attention from her favorite people. She's been lovely with all the team members she's met so far and is gradually building her confidence each day.
Walks and string cheese are currently at the top of Meela’s list of favorite things, and we’ve found that letting her explore at her own pace helps her feel safe and secure. Training is a bit overwhelming for her at the moment, but with time and encouragement, we believe she’ll come around beautifully.
Meela seems to really enjoy meeting other dogs—especially calm, confident ones—so a canine companion might be just the role model she needs. She’s showing lots of interest in making new furry friends. Toys are still a bit hit-or-miss; she likes her stuffies but isn’t much of a fetch or frisbee gal (yet!). Meela is looking for a patient, loving home that can help her grow into the brave, happy pup we know she can be.
Meela's adoption fee is $250 and includes her spay, microchip, current vaccines and preventatives plus a heartworm test. Meela is seeking an indoor only home, if you would like to meet her please submit an adoption application through our website, Adopthope.org. Last Hope requires that adopters have a history of having kept any other animals in their care as indoor pets only, altered and kept current on annual vaccines and vet care. Our adoption process includes a vet history check and a home visit.
