Hello, my name is Max and I’m a gentle giant. I absolutely love long walks and especially going to the dog park where I can run free with other dogs. I’m a pretty big guy, so the sidewalks aren’t really my thing — and I’m not a huge fan of being on a leash. I run fast and love meeting both dogs and their humans.
Usually, I’ll go right up to people and lean my whole body into them — that’s how I show my love. Then I’ll gently approach the dogs to see if they’re up for playing. If they’re not into it, I totally respect that and give them space.
I don’t bark much, only when I’m home and hear someone at the door. That’s just me protecting my people — I take that job seriously. I love to love. I’ll walk up to any human who looks interested in me — and even if they don’t, I’ll probably still say Hi.
Some people say my tail is like a weapon — it’s big, it’s heavy, and it’s always wagging. So, if my humans are drinking their morning coffee, they’ve learned to keep an eye on the cup when I walk by. I’m not a fan of skateboards. Depending on my mood, I might try to chase after them, but I’ve been getting better about that. I do love to chase squirrels though, or at least try to find them if I hear or catch a glimpse.
Unfortunately, my humans didn’t realize how big I would get, and with a busy schedule, a new baby on the way, and a move into a new home, they know I deserve more. I need space to run, regular companionship, and a family that can give me daily adventures. As much as they love me, they’re doing what’s best for me — and I’m ready to find a new home where I can truly thrive.
If you are interested in meeting Max, please download the Adoption Questionnaire, fill it out and email it back to us at info@farescue.org or fax (310) 362-0321. You can also meet this and/or other available dogs at our weekend adoptions.
