Welcome Harley. This 6 year old, 35lb chocolate border collie thinks he’s a lap dog. All he is wants is your affection, but as we know unearned affection is a recipe for disaster with these working breeds. Rather, prospective adopters should use this reward system to their advantage when teaching him new things. He’ll work for ear scratches and belly rubs and he’s got a few things to learn (namely how to walk on a leash).
So far he’s gotten along great with the 2 other resident dogs. Very polite and serene. He even got Lizzie, his foster sister to do a few play bows, and anyone that knows Lizzie knows she doesn’t play. He handled grooming like a champ. Let’s just say he didn’t come in the best of shape, but his fosters took one for the team and got him looking like a show dog! He slept soundly through the night and doesn’t appear to mind being in a crate. As for going potty, he’s doing that outside like a good boy. He’s also very cool and collected around the goats and donkey that live on site.
Harley is looking for a breed savvy home that will further his development and socialization. He’s got that border collie sensitivity. Those familiar with the breed know what we’re talking about.
Harley is located in Arroyo Grande, CA. He is microchipped, neutered, and UTD on vaccines.
