Male German Shepherd Dog. Gets along with other dogs. Here's the thing about this really smart, handsome, smart, gorgeous, smart GSD: He's smart. He can also be stubborn. He's like a teenage boy in the body of a GSD.
Gunner is just about the most well trained dog in our rescue. He's been working on his obedience game for over a year and knows all of the tricks. He has a relationship with certain volunteers in which he understands they are the leaders and he is the follower. Once you achieve that relationship with him, he's just about the most fun canine companion in the world! But, and here's the but, you don't have that relationship with him yet. As smart as he is, he's not a well oiled machine who is the same dog with different people. He is going to be a dream dog for someone who likes to work their dogs, but he is going to be a handful for someone who doesn't.
Gunner is your typical working dog with lots of energy who is smart as a whip, loves to run and play, and adores his people. He craves work, loves a job, and would probably enjoy agility. He's adorable, loving, affectionate, playful, and needs a home with GSD/working dog experience or he will take the lead position and become overly protective. If you're looking for a smart puppy who would love to be part of an active home, Gunner is your boy!

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $400. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.
Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers.
We show our dogs at adoption events every weekend! Check our our website to see where we'll be next!
