Hello everyone, my name is Finn! I am a treeing walker coonhound, and am on the bigger side for hounds. I am about 8 years old, but don’t let my age scare you off, I am spunky and love a good walk! My friends would say I am sweet, chill, and a hugger. I am surprisingly quiet for a hound dog, but would probably be best not in an apartment because I may become more vocal as I settle into my furever home. I would be best in a home with a fenced in yard then walks would no longer be necessary.
I am great with adults and older children, 14 years and older, but prefer to have a child free home. I prefer to be able to relax at home when I’m not out exploring and younger children can be a little chaotic for me.
I could live with another dog, but would need a slow introduction. It generally takes only about 30-45 minutes for me to get to know another dog and then we can be great friends. I also have a high prey drive so I am not good with cats. I am a hunting dog after all!
I am crate trained and am quiet and calm in my crate. I am working on learning other manners and tricks!
Please come meet me at Petco in Wilmington on Saturdays from 11:00-3:00 or call Jill at 910-620-3783. If you just want an easy, middle aged companion who is housebroken and has EXCELLENT house manners, I am your dog.
