AN ADORABLE & WONDERFUL GIRL: Approx. 7 years old / Approx. 41 lbs.
Hello – I’m Etta! Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I am happy and grateful for the great care I’m receiving as part of the Mostly Mutts family! The volunteers all have great things to say about me, and I bet you will agree that I am a super girl. Plan to come meet me soon and see if I am your new furry family member! I’m in a great foster home while I wait for my furever family to find me.
• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and I’m learning to play with them now, so if you have a dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.
• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: You could say I am a volunteer favorite as they report that I’m ‘a wonderful dog’ who is ‘as sweet as can be’. I seem to be applying for the title of ‘best girl ever’, and I’m nailing the interview! I am super affectionate and see myself as a lap dog – all 41 pounds of me! My foster describes me as a ‘velcro dog’ as I just love following her all around and helping her with her various activities. I seem to believe that if you have hands, they should be petting me at all times - LOL! I seemingly didn’t live in the lap of luxury before coming to Mostly Mutts - with fur staining, a broken tail and sore skin. However, my resilient love of people didn’t fade as I love all the volunteers, and I was super sweet for my shelter bath, too - melting the heart of my bather while gazing at her with my beautiful eyes and adorable smile. I do enjoy a 2-mile walk with my foster each morning as well as zoomies in the fenced yard. / My energy level is 4-6 with the occasional higher burst of energy.
• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a smart girl who knows the ‘sit’ and ‘come’ commands and I also walk well on a leash. My foster is teaching me the ‘leave it’ and ‘drop it’ commands. I also know how to give ‘paw’ so my foster can wipe the mud off my feet before I come inside, and to ‘sit’ and ‘stay’ for my food before dinner. I have picked up a few miscellaneous items in the yard and carried them into the house, so just watch for this please. Occasionally when I’m eager for attention or excited to play, I’ll be gently and affectionately mouthy with my foster — it’s just one of my ways of showing love! / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty habits are good in my foster home, where I let my foster know that I need to go outside.
• LIKES/DISLIKES: I absolutely love people, and spending time with them is just the best. I enjoy my walks with the volunteers on each shift and can’t wait to cuddle and give kisses of appreciation to them. I like a soft place to lie and a soft toy to play with. I’m ready to be a sweet companion and a treasured family pet to a lucky family! / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.
• MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. As mentioned above, I have a broken tail that has healed crooked, but it doesn’t bother me, and I think it just adds to my charm. I take an over-the-counter inexpensive Cosequin tablet that is good for all dogs my age and older. Shortly after arriving I had vaginal prolapse repair surgery and was spayed and I’m doing well! I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.
I am looking for a wonderful home where I will be a much-loved family member! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
