Elsa arrived to our organization after she was rescued from a frozen canal. She was extremely matted and a walking skeleton. Despite her ordeal, Elsa demostrated she is a survivor.
Elsa is a beautiful 3-year-old Shih Tzu who weighs approximately 12 pounds. She is initially shy but once you offer her treats, she quickly displays her affectionate and loyal nature. And she loves toys!!!
Elsa has a history of bladder stones. She will need a low phosphorus/sodium diet to prevent/manage bladder stones. Elsa can get possessive of toys/high value treats so monitor interactions with other dogs or children. Elsa may need additional assistance with housebreaking as she adjusts to new schedules.
Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for her entire life (up to 15+ years or more.)
You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization.
Her adoption fee is $300. This includes her spay surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccination, Nobivac® Intra-Trac 3 vaccination, Drontal® Plus, IDEXX SNAP® 4Dx Plus Test, Tri-Heart® Plus chewable tablet, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar.
Please be aware that puppies and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so interested parties are encouraged to apply online at www.saspca.org.
Please ensure your application is complete before submitting. We do verify property ownership, landlord references, apartment/HOA restrictions, veterinary references, and criminal histories.
Our adoption events are held each Saturday at Petco located in the Northwoods Shopping Center at 18138 San Pedro Ave, San Antonio TX 78232. Event hours are 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Pour toute adoption, nous demandons des justificatifs afin de compléter le dossier de l’adoptant : une pièce d’identité, un justificatif de domicile original de moins de 3 mois, et le certificat d’engagement et de connaissance des besoins spécifiques de l’espèce complété et signé 7 jours avant l’acquisition de l’animal.
Nous demandons également une participation financière, couvrant les frais vétérinaires dont l’animal a bénéficié lors de sa prise en charge (stérilisation, identification, vaccination, etc..). Si l’animal n’est pas encore stérilisé lors de l’adoption, un chèque de caution de 300€ est demandé.
