Meet Earl, a lively Border Collie/Lab mix puppy, estimated to be about 4.5 to 5 months old, who was discovered abandoned on a farm in Louisiana by one of our fosters. True to his puppy nature, Earl loves running, playing with toys, and going for a swim, all while adhering to his personal motto: play hard, nap harder. Earl would do best in an environment with another dog to keep him company and plenty of space to romp around. and plenty of space to romp and have fun. He's incredibly loyal and affectionate, often following his favorite person around like a devoted shadow. With his charming personality, Earl is sure to become a beloved best friend. He has already mastered commands like sit and shake and is making excellent progress with house training. He gets along well with other dogs and children, but watch out if you’re a squirrel—he’s got a keen eye for those!
Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.
All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!
Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up.
Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Thank you!
