Devon is a young cattle dog mix that is under a year old. He is what I’d call cattle dog light so far as temperament goes, very happy to just be with his people. He does not need extensive exercise but does enjoy letting the zoomies out so a fenced yard would be great but not required. He is crate trained and travels well. He would love to go on adventures with his person but does still need some confidence building on obstacles he has never seen. He does like his meals but otherwise has a low food drive and will just drop treats if he’s uncomfortable. He likes to carry a tennis ball but does not chase or fetch one at this time. He gets along great with other dogs and is respectful in play. I do not have a cat but he has met them in the shelter and also when I house sit, and showed no sign of harassment or chasing behavior with dog savvy cats. He’s had no accidents in the house but he is crated when left alone. All in all he’s a very easy dog to live with and if supervised and given appropriate direction will make someone very happy. He is young and does like to chew so having appropriate items available will be key. He would benefit from going through obedience classes with his new family to increase his confidence. He does not pull on leash and does not jump up often. He is current on veterinary care, on monthly preventatives and neutered.
