LOCATION: Flint, TXDOB: 01/07/2021Introducing Dee Jay, a gentle giant with a heart as big as his paws. This 94-pound Great Dane Lab mix is a sweet, soulful boy who’s ready to find a home that matches his mellow spirit and goofy charm.Dee Jay is both house and crate trained, and he responds like a pro when it’s time to “kennel up” or “go in the hole.” He’ll trot right in, sit politely, and wait patiently for his biscuit, which he accepts with impressive gentleness. Meals are his favorite part of the day, but second place might go to patrolling the backyard for squirrels—he’s got a surprisingly graceful pointer stance that will make you smile every time.Despite his size, Dee Jay moves through doors and down steps like a shadow. He’s not one to bark often, but when he does, it’s with a deep, booming voice that means business. He enjoys the company of laid-back female dogs and friendly cats, but would do best in a home without other males. He’s also great with kids ages 5 and up, though his happy dance can be a little too enthusiastic for toddlers.Dee Jay is learning that love and affection are pretty amazing things. Each day, he gets a little better at soaking up the pets, hugs, and cozy moments. When it’s time to relax, he prefers a pad or pillow—just no blankets, please, as he tends to redecorate with them. A good chew toy or bully stick is his idea of the perfect nightcap.Leash walking is still a work in progress. His excitement sometimes turns into serious pulling power, but with continued patience and practice, he’s sure to improve. When left alone, he settles down in his kennel and naps peacefully until you return. If you're looking for a loyal, low-drama companion who’s equal parts tender and silly, Dee Jay might just be your perfect match.========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .For more information, please email us at rescueme@srgdrr.org.
