Danu is a 3-year-old Shepherd mix and a total goofball! Weighing in at around 80 pounds, this gentle giant is playful, loves attention, and is looking for a new best friend.This goofy girl is house-trained and crate-trained—she is very smart and eager to please, so any future training will be a breeze, too. She does have some separation anxiety and may be vocal when left alone, so will need a home without shared walls (no apartments/townhomes). While medication has helped, she’s made great progress and continues to settle into her foster home. Danu does well with structure, companionship, and enrichment, and would thrive with a family that’s home often or has a flexible schedule.Danu loves to make friends, so she would be a great family dog! She has previously lived with young children (ages 2 and 5). She has done well when living with dog-savvy cats, but we recommend a home without feline friends just to be safe. She LOVES meeting other dogs—she's enthusiastic but respectful during introductions. She’s a medium-energy pup who enjoys a long walk, backyard fetch sessions, and chewing on her favorite bone. She would benefit from yard time but has done well on a long leash at home. When she's all tuckered out, she loves some quality cuddle time—she loves to rest her head in your lap! Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
