Meet Champ!

A spirited six-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer mix from Port Edwards, WI, whose essence is a delightful blend of goofiness and heartwarming charm wrapped in a creamy coat. At 85 pounds of pure love, Champ is the cuddliest companion you could ask for, always ready to snuggle up and keep you warm on chilly nights or lazy afternoons on the couch!

Champ is a mellow guy with a medium energy level — mostly content to lounge by your side, but every now and then, he surprises everyone with a playful case of the zoomies that will leave you smiling. While toys aren’t really his thing, Champ is a master of relaxation and has perfected the art of being a constant companion. One of his most entertaining quirks is the funny little sounds he makes after drinking from a regular bowl, which is why his caregivers use a raised bowl — it keeps things smooth and still brings plenty of smiles!

Thanks to his formal obedience training, Champ is a polite housemate who knows all the essentials: sit, stay, lay, up, down, and crate. He’s house-trained, neutered, and microchipped, making him ready to join a new family. He handles short periods alone just fine and thrives on a familiar routine: mornings at your side, crate time during the workday, and cozy nights in the bedroom with his favorite humans. Thunderstorms and strong winds can rattle his nerves a bit, but with a loving guardian, he feels safe and secure.

While Champ adores people, he prefers to be the only four-legged member of the family. He’s not compatible with other dogs or cats, but for someone looking for a loyal and affectionate solo pet, Champ is the ultimate dream! It’s important to note that Champ has occasionally nipped at unfamiliar people coming into the home, though he’s never nipped his caregivers. With a calm environment and positive reinforcement, Champ does well, especially when new introductions are handled with care and patience.
