Butterscotch is a young boy, who is estimated to be around 10 months old (as of February). He is still a bit on the timid and cautious side around humans, but he is quickly learning that we are here to help him. Butterscotch would do best with an adopter who can dedicate some time and patience to help him come out of his shell through some one-on-one attention and gentle socialization. His sister Carmela is super friendly so we predict that Butterscotch will open up in no time.





Our best guess on his breed is some type of cattle dog mix. His mom looks like a cattle dog and dad looks like a shep/rhodesian mix so we are guessing he will be around 70 pounds when fully grown. Butterscotch and Carmela were recently seized by a sheriff in Texas when their owner was evicted from her rental property. She was a hoarder and the dogs and cats on her property were found in a state of absolutely terrible neglect. Please help Butterscotch find his forever home, so he can have the happy story tale ending he so deserves. Butterscotch is currently in foster care in Texas but will be transported to NJ upon adoption.
