Brownie is a hound mix that is between 10-11 years old. He came to us as stray and was never reclaimed. We had someone reach out to us that knew of him from his previous owner and was able to give us a little information on him. He was a hunting dog with his original owner and was kept outside all the time so he takes a bit to warm up to being inside a home. He loves to go on walkies and use his nose as if he is tracking something and walks well on leash. He may be an escape artist so he should never be unattended when outside. He does need a home with no cats as they are not his favorite. He has lived with smaller dogs and did well with the females in the home but was not fond of the male. He has never been around bigger dogs so we are unsure of how he will feel. A dog test will be required to make sure everyone gets along. He is used to being in a kennel or a crate and will use it as his safe space if he is nervous. He is not used to being cuddled and loved so it takes him time to understand that pets are ok and that human love is a good thing. He has a very sweet demeanor and with time and patience will be a great family dog. We feel he would do well with kids in the home that will give him time to decompress and get comfy. We would like the kids to come to the meet and greet to make sure everyone gets alonf. He LOVES his toys especially the stuffy kind with the squeakers! He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Interested in adopting?
