Meet Basie, a 14-month-old Rat and Russell Terrier mix with a hint of Norwegian Elkhound—though he's yet to catch an elk! Weighing in at 23 pounds, Basie is full of energy and personality. He’s potty trained and sleeps through the night (though prefers to skip the crate). Basie knows commands like sit, stay, down, and spin, and is highly food-motivated, making him a quick learner.

While he's still working on leash manners due to some reactivity (especially around dogs and squirrels), he's a work in progress. Basie would thrive as the only dog in a home with kids aged 12 and up, where he can soak up all the attention. He loves being outdoors, so a fenced yard is a must to let him burn off his energy. With a high prey drive and a love for cuddles (on his own terms), Basie is looking for an experienced owner ready to continue his training and build a strong, trusting bond. The adoption fee of $1

50 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family.
