NEW INTAKE 4/23/2025:  Barky Bark - male - DOB 1/10/2025 - 7.2 pounds - Shih Tzu

Reason for intake:  One of our volunteers was contacted about this little guy.  The people thought they wanted a puppy and then realized a puppy is more work than they realized. (Please no negative comments.)  We took him in.  Barky Bark needs a grooming first and foremost... not sure how this little guy can see!  He also has a cherry eye that needs repaired.  He's heading to our vet after grooming for neutering and everything else he needs.  Once everything is done, we will post him for adoption.  Stay tuned!

Give for Good is vital to our mission because rescuing animals costs money. We minimize expenses by administering vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, and treating ear mites ourselves, but some procedures must be done at a vet clinic. Our monthly vet bills range from $5,000 to $8,000 across two primary clinics. We also frequently use a groomer for dogs that arrive matted and neglected. Fortunately, both our groomer and vet clinics offer us discounts. Every dollar donated directly supports the animals, as everyone at our rescue is a volunteer. Thank you for your continued support!

NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS:  Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed.  Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining.   In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason.  We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption.  In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered.  Please note…  we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption.  Please wait until the dog is available for adoption.  We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link:  https://www.facebook.com/share/1B46skRWF5/ OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org.  We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
