Annie is such a fitting name for this bi-eyed beauty, after all she's an orphaned red head. She was a stray into a NC shelter, and like most, the shelter is over capacity. Annie had been there for 50 days without any adoption interest. The shelter was having to make difficult choices for space.
But
it gets worse... As we were getting Annie's information the shelter had a parvo outbreak and sure enough Annie contracted it! That's very unusual for a vaccinated, 2-year-old dog. Due to the fast-acting care of the shelter staff, Annie weathered the storm and made a full recovery.
Now here she is! This rescue has been in the works for a while. We had to make sure Annie was safe to be with our other Huskies at the sanctuary. We're excited to get to know her more and figure out what's going on her adoption wishlist!
If you're interested in adopting her, please pre-apply and we'll match compatibility with your application once we get to know her better.
So far she's doing great! She loves the other dogs but isn't overly fond of them being in her face. She'd likely do great as an only dog or as a companion type dog vs a playful dog. Annie is very well mannered and is pretty quiet for a Husky. She's great on a leash and is house broken. You just can't go wrong with this sweetheart!
Annie is being fostered in NC but transport can be arranged for an approved home. Adoption area is states along the east coast. Exceptions can be made on a case by case basis. More on Annie at www.huskyrescueteam.org/annie
