Meet
Alex
, a handsome boy with a captivating rust-red coat, hints of black, and deep chocolate eyes framed by a perfectly pert pair of ears. Despite his rough past - he’s seriously underweight and has fly strikes on his ears, showing signs of neglect - Alex is a sweet, attentive, and affectionate boy who deserves all the TLC in the world. Eager to please, he bonds closely with his people and is smart enough to have learned some basic training, like sitting and shaking. Alex walks beautifully on a leash and is easy to handle, plus he’s very treat-motivated, which will make continued training a breeze. While the shelter suggested pairing him with only girl dogs, our volunteers haven’t seen any concerning reactions around other pups, regardless of gender. This sweet boy is ready for a fresh start and would love to find his forever home, one where he can soak up all the care and attention that he deserves!
7 year old black and tan German Shepherd
67 pound neutered male - but should be 80 pounds or more
Up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! However, Alex picked up a little doggy cold at the shelter, which is already being treated - he will need to be adopted on a health waiver, adopter to follow up with own vet for further diagnostics and potential treatment
Came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 3/10/25 as an owner surrender - but we have no notes and Alex is a perfect gentleman, so we have no idea why!
