After being dumped, this stunning German Shepherd mix was discovered by a caring couple. There was an indentation in her fur from the collar that once told her where she belonged. Her eyes were full of terror and confusion, as well as hope that someone would help her. The couple reached out, and we quickly took her into AASR.
Her physical appearance makes it obvious that she’d had at least one litter of pups in the past, possibly several, despite the fact that she can’t be very old herself. We estimate her to be around 1-3 years old.
She doesn’t have a play hard puppy personality, but squeaky balls quickly became one of her favorites. She was pretty shut down when she came into rescue. We can’t know if that was because she was missing her previous mystery owner(s), or because they didn’t treat her like the angel she is. We’re working to change that with lots of toys, treats, pets, and snuggles. She has come a long way, is very receptive, and highly food motivated. She’s quick to give gracious kisses, and has the most magical smile you’ve ever seen.
Just days before her scheduled spay date, we discovered that she was producing milk. This meant she was very pregnant, and ready to give birth any day. She gave birth on March 5, 2025, to Seamus, Minka, and Teva.
Once her babies are fully weaned, she will be spayed and tested for heartworms. She has been treated for potential intestinal parasites, given age appropriate vaccines, and is on flea/tick/heartworm prevention.
