Meet Willoughby, the black and white shy guy. Willoughby came into the Shelter feeling overwhelmed and unsure about the new people and environment. With time and patience, he has slowly warmed up to a little group of people. Prior to the Shelter, Willoughby was in a home for a brief period of time and used the litterbox. Willoughby’s ideal adopter would be cat savvy and give him the time and patience to transition to his adoptive home. With a quiet, slow start – we anticipate Willoughby will continue to warm up and will be a great sidekick for someone. Willoughby’s adoption fee is decreased by $20 thanks to the Bogey Fund – a fund that draws adopter’s eyes towards often overlooked black cats (or partially black cats in Willoughby’s case). Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
