Meet Riley – A Gentle Soul Looking for Her Soft Landing
Riley is a 12-year-young black-and-white tuxedo beauty with a heart full of love and a gentle spirit. She’s been through a big life change recently—surrendered after her humans separated and moved—and now she’s searching for a quiet, stable home where she can feel safe.
This sweet girl is truly a lover. She adores snuggling on laps, asking for pets, and keeping you company. Riley is wonderfully social and has lived peacefully with men, women, kids, cats, and even dogs. As always, slow introductions help her feel most comfortable in new situations.
Riley’s polite and affectionate—she’ll never bite or intentionally scratch. She will, however, kindly remind you if her food bowl is empty, her water needs refilling, or she’s in the mood for a cuddle session. She does have a few quirks: she likes to scratch couch corners if they’re within reach (a good scratching post helps!), and she insists on a clean litter box—otherwise, she may resort to using laundry piles as a backup bathroom. Fair warning: keep the laundry off the floor, and you'll both be happy!
Riley has so much love left to give and just wants a calm home where she can spend her golden years being your loyal, snuggly companion. Could that home be with you?

I just joined my foster family and we are still getting acquainted with one another. Once they learn more about me, they will add more information here!
Riley is from an owner surrender. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page.
If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
