Will YOU be a Hero for Hero?
My name is Hero and I was sadly brought to the shelter after my owner couldn't take care of me. When the shelter vet clinic did my medical work they found out that I was diabetic. The shelter is working to regulate my insulin and find me a loving lifelong home - my ideal home would be with a family who can do my daily insulin injections - I'm a good boy for these!
Right now Hero is getting two units of Lantus insulin twice a day and he is taking the injections like a champ. He is already showing signs of putting on weight and increased activity level. He's a loving, sweet cat.
As of 4/23 The clinic is waiting for a Libre unit to come in to easily monitor my blood sugars just to make sure I'm stable and my insulin is working.
The shelter will gladly waive Hero's adoption fee and help provide insulin at cost to treat him as well. If you are truly looking to SAVE a life...and want to adopt a pet truly in NEED... Hero is your guy! He's so sweet and has quickly become a staff favorite! If you're interested in giving Hero a loving lifelong home - (which can and will be just as long as any other animal) pls come in to meet him. Sadly most other shelters would have to euthanize a pet like this. We hope to help Hero and give him the life he deserves.
Hero is up to date on all medical work and is having a dental cleaning to make sure he's in tip top shape for his possible new home! :)
We'd love to find Hero a permanent home asap - it would be best for him to go to his forever home otherwise we will try to find him a foster home.
