Please meet Gracie, the ultimate cutie patootie with a sweet and innocent expression that will steal your heart in an instant. Her beautiful gray and white coat perfectly complements her wide, curious eyes that follow your every move around the room. 



Gracie has been at the Millsboro PetSmart Adoption Center for a little over 5 months.  And that is after spending 5 months at FC shelter in PA.  Fortunately for her, one of our volunteers has given her several cage breaks.

I notice everything but never get seen,
In my spot behind this glass screen.
Some cats strut their stuff and find it so easy,
But the thought of standing out makes me feel queasy.
Week after week I sit and wait,
All on my own just wanting a mate.
Many cats go home as I stay behind,
I'm just waiting for someone patient and kind.
People walk past and think I'm not here,
I'm just timid and shy and have some fear.
I just need one person who will quietly whisper,
Take your time, no rush, don't worry a whisker.
Be a part of my family I'll shower you with love,
And whatever you give me, it will be enough.

As with most cats, all they need is a loving home, and Gracie has proved to be no different.  She is the low maintenance cat you've been waiting for.  She's not much for being held or a lap cat but loves knowing that you are physically there for her.  Gracie is very unassuming and spends most of her time napping.  Once she gets to know you better, she will even share the couch with you. She loves to be petted but sometimes flinches when she sees your hand approaching.  (Maybe she was hit before she was rescued)?  But she will soon melt into your welcome hands and start purring up a storm of delight!
 
After her frequent naps, she loves the scratching pad. Then, she'll get a bite of food followed by a slurping of water! She loves all toys and can be found rooting through her toy box, checking out the toys DuJour. She loves looking outside her window and can't survive without a room with a view! 
 
While in the Adoption Center, she was frequently out with other cats and had no issues but really likes her own bit of space. We were even able to put a harness and leash on her and give her a cart ride around the store!
